Give us your torn, tattered, worn and faded American flags, say members of the Yolo County Veterans Coalition. The veterans will ensure that these grand symbols of the United States are retired with proper pomp and ceremony on Saturday.
The flag retirement ceremony will begin at 9 a.m. at the West Plainfield Fire Station, 24901 County Road 95. The public is welcome.
Yolo County residents are invited to drop off their worn and tattered flags:
* In Davis at Davis Ace Hardware, 240 G St.;
* In Woodland at the Veterans Service Office, 120 W. Main St., Suite A; the American Legion Post 77, 523 Bush St.; and at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8762, 905 Drever St.; and
* In Winters at the Winters Post Office, 510 Railroad Ave., attention John Sexton.
