One-day yoga workshop helps manage grief

By From page A3 | March 16, 2014

Yolo Hospice’s one-day yoga workshop, “Healing through Yoga,” helps individuals cope with grief through the use of breathing techniques, basic yoga postures, discussion and education.

Yoga can replenish energy, improve sleep and relax the mind and body, which can give respite to those coping with grief.

The one-day workshop will run from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 23, at the Yolo Hospice offices, 1909 Galileo Court, Suite A, in South Davis. There is no fee to participate.

Yolo Hospice bereavement specialist Colleen McDonald, a marriage and family therapist and registered yoga teacher, uses gentle movements that can be adapted to the individual abilities, so no experience is necessary.

Pre-registration is required as workshop size is limited. Call Yolo Hospice at 530-601-5756 for more information and to register.
