Lots of dogs and cats are waiting to be adopted at the Yolo County Animal Shelter, 2640 E. Gibson Road in Woodland. Among them are Mixie (No. 113543), a 1o-month-old spayed female gray and white domestic short-haired cat. Also hoping for a good home is Benny (No. 114085), a 5-year-old neutered male brown brindle and black dachshund. Fees are charged for licensing and spaying or neutering, if necessary. The shelter is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays (closed for lunch from 1 to 2 p.m. each day). For more information on how to adopt a pet, call 530-668-5287 or visit http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/CA283html (type 95776 into the ZIP code window for shelter animals). Find out more about pets available for adoption via Facebook at www.facebook.com/YCAS.Shelter. Sue Cockrell/Enterprise photos
