Lots of animals are waiting to be adopted at the Yolo County Animal Shelter, 2640 E. Gibson Road in Woodland. Among them is Jackson (No. 044525), an 8-year-old neutered male Labrador retriever mix who needs training and would do best with an experienced dog owner with no young children. Also hoping for a good home is Toby (No. 121569), a 3-year-old neutered male long-haired Chihuahua. Fees are charged for licensing. The shelter is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays (closed for lunch from 1 to 2 p.m. each day). For more information on how to adopt a pet, call 530-668-5287 or visit http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/CA283html (type 95776 into the ZIP code window for shelter animals). Find out more about pets available for adoption via Facebook at www.facebook.com/YCAS.Shelter. Sue Cockrell/Enterprise photos
