Lots of dogs and cats are waiting to be adopted at the Yolo County Animal Shelter, 2640 E. Gibson Road in Woodland. Among them is Whiskers (No. 101243), a 3-month-old neutered male black-and-white domestic medium-haired kitten. Also hoping for a good home is Willy (No. 100764), a 5-year-old neutered male cream-and-tan-colored, long-haired Chihuahua mix dog. Fees are charged for licensing and spaying or neutering, if necessary. The shelter is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays (closed for lunch from 1 to 2 p.m. each day).
