Lots of dogs and cats are waiting to be adopted at the Yolo County Animal Shelter, 2640 E. Gibson Road in Woodland. Among them are Sport (No. 112364), an 8-month-old neutered male brown domestic short-haired tabby. Also hoping for a good home is Daphne (No. 112063), a 6-month-old spayed female brown and white pit bull mix. Fees are charged for licensing and spaying or neutering, if necessary. The shelter is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays (closed for lunch from 1 to 2 p.m. each day).
