Lots of dogs and cats are waiting to be adopted at the Yolo County Animal Shelter, 2640 E. Gibson Road in Woodland. Among them are Gaby (No. 113453), a 5-year-old spayed female brown dachshund/basset hound mixed dog. Also hoping for a good home is Mixie (No. 113542), a 10-month-old spayed female gray and white domestic short-haired cat. Fees are charged for licensing and spaying or neutering, if necessary. The shelter is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays (closed for lunch from 1 to 2 p.m. each day). For more information on how to adopt a pet, call 530-668-5287 or visit http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/CA283html (type 95776 into the ZIP code window for shelter animals).
