Photographer shares Burning Man images, stories

By From page A24 | October 07, 2012

Burning Man is an alternative, artistic festival that takes place in the Nevada desert north of Reno every year around Labor Day. Laurie Friedman, a Davis photographer, had always been curious about Burning Man, and finally summoned up her nerve — as well as two friends for moral support, and a used RV for protection against the notorious dust storms — and went to check it out in 2011.

She found it to be a wonderful and creative experience, and will share her photos and Burning Man stories at the upcoming meeting of the Photography Club of Davis at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Blanchard Room at the Stephens Branch Library, 315 E. 14th St.
