Photographers phone them in

By From page A1 | January 23, 2013

Today’s smartphones are for much more than just communicating — they can create art, too.

That’s the premise behind Dave Webb’s “Saturate Yolo” exhibit at the Davis Art Center, 1919 F St., and an accompanying Facebook project.

Webb, a longtime Davis resident, uses his smartphone to capture various images that are on display in the exhibit. The medium is one that the Davis City Council has seen fit to honor by designating January as “Phone Art Month.” Locals are invited to post their photos online at https://www.facebook.com/PhoneArtInDavis?fref=ts

Some photographs will be selected for publication throughout the month in The Davis Enterprise.
