The Poetry Night Reading Series will feature poets Gillian Wegener and Gerald Fleming at 8 p.m. Thursday, April 21, at the John Natsoulas Gallery, 521 First St.

Wegener’s poems have been published in In the Grove, RUNES, The Ledge, The Mad Poets’ Review, Central Valley Poetry Journal and Zambomba, among others. She received her bachelor’s degree from Humboldt State University and a master’s degree in writing from the University of San Francisco. Born in New York, Wegener teaches English at Oakdale Junior High School in Modesto.

Fleming’s poetry and prose poems have appeared widely over the past 30 years. Between 1995 and 2000 he edited and published the literary magazine Barnabe Mountain Review, whose archives can be found at UC Berkeley’s Bancroft Library. His book of poems, “Swimmer Climbing onto Shore,” was published by Sixteen Rivers Press in 2005. He taught in the San Francisco public schools for 37 years, and has published three books for teachers, the most recent of which is “Rain, Steam, and Speed.” He lives in Lagunitas.

Attendees are encouraged to arrive early to secure a set and sign up for a spot on the open mic list. The Poetry Night Reading Series, organized and hosted by Andy Jones and produced by Brad Henderson, occurs on the first Wednesday of the month at Bistro 33, and third Thursday of every month at the John Natsoulas Gallery.
