A Woodland man was hospitalized early Saturday and his girlfriend jailed after she allegedly struck him with her car, authorities said.
Elena Lund-Tessler, 31, of Davis, was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon after turning herself in at the Davis Police Department at 12:40 p.m. Saturday, Woodland police Sgt. Steve Guthrie said.
According to Guthrie, the incident stemmed from an argument between the 33-year-old victim and Lund-Tessler as they left an East Street bar. They drove to the victim’s residence on Shiloh Court, where the boyfriend exited the car Lund-Tessler was driving.
As she was leaving the cul-de-sac, Lund-Tessler allegedly made a U-turn, accelerated toward the victim and struck him with her car in the roadway. Guthrie said the impact “caused the victim to roll over the top of the moving vehicle and land on the pavement.”
Witnesses told police that Lund-Tessler tried unsuccessfully to strike the victim two more times before fleeing the scene, Guthrie said.
Police were summoned shortly before 2 a.m. to the victim’s home, where they found him conscious but with injuries to his leg, arm and hand, Guthrie said. He was taken by ambulance to the UC Davis Medical Center for treatment.
Lund-Tessler is being held at the Yolo County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail.
