Former San Francisco Chronicle columnist Adair Lara will talk about her book, “Naked, Drunk and Writing: Shed Your Inhibitions and Craft a Compelling Memoir or Personal Essay” (Ten Speed Press, 2012) next week at UC Davis. She will speak from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, at the University Writing Program’s Conversations with Writers series in 126 Voorhies Hall at UCD.
Her talk is free and open to the public.
Lara is the author of several Chronicle Press books, including “The Granny Diaries” (2008), “The Bigger the Sign, the Worse the Garage Sale” (2007) and “Normal is Just a Setting on the Dryer” (2003).
She wrote a column for the Chronicle from 1989 to 2001, winning awards from the Associated Press and the National Society of Newspaper Columnists.
