Happiness is a warm blanket, made with love!

Local residents who enjoy quilting, knitting or sewing are invited to Project Linus’ next gathering, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, at the Davis Senior Center, 646 A St.

Project Linus volunteers make blankets for children in the community who are seriously ill, traumatized or otherwise in need. Meeting attendees will sew Linus labels on handmade blankets that are given each month to organizations in Yolo County that serve children in need. A record total of 1,368 blankets were made and donated by the group in year 2012.

Members also share ideas, patterns and lots of good conversation.

New fabrics and yarn are available each month for pick up and may be taken home to complete a blanket. Finished blankets may be brought to the next monthly gathering or dropped off at Diane McGee’s house. For drop-off location questions, fabric or yarn donations or more information, contact McGee at [email protected] or 530-753-3436
