By From page A3 | February 21, 2014

Portland-based author Anne Hendren will be at The Avid Reader at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28, to discuss her newest book, “Project Runaway.” The bookstore is at 617 Second St. in downtown Davis.

Set in New York and the Rocky Mountain west, “Project Runaway” wraps suicide and fraud inside the opulent intrigue of fashion and design in New York.

Hendren earned degrees in comparative literature, international affairs and French from Cornell, Columbia and Wellesley College. She has written articles and edited publications for more than 20 years. Her bylines showcase wide-ranging interests: the performing arts, literature, electronics and alternative medicine.

Her 1999 book, “Hidden Lives and Unhistoric Acts,” recounts how four 90-year-old Idaho women enhanced the quality of life in their community. She is currently writing her third novel, a mystery about an Idaho hunter and his African safaris.
