Property taxes due April 10, or suffer a penalty

By From page A3 | April 02, 2014

Yolo County Tax Collector Howard Newens reminds taxpayers who own property in Yolo County that the second installment of 2013-14 secured property tax will be delinquent if not paid by Thursday, April 10.

To avoid a penalty, property taxes must be paid by 5 p.m. April 10, after which a 10 percent penalty and $10 fee will be added. Envelopes must be postmarked no later than April 10 if taxes are paid by mail.

Taxpayers also may pay by credit card (plus a 2.5 percent convenience fee) or electronic check (no charge). These payments may be made at www.yolocounty.org (select property tax button) or by phone at 866-895-5027. Payments made using either of these two systems must be completed by 11:59 p.m. April 10 to avoid penalties.

For inquiries or more information concerning tax bills and payments, visit www.yolocounty.org; call 530-666-8625 during business hours, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays; or stop by the Yolo County Tax Collector’s Office at 625 Court St., Room 102, in Woodland. The office will be open until 5 p.m. on April 10.
