Prospective foster parents are invited to attend a free informational session from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2, in Room 109 at Woodland Community College, 2300 E. Gibson Road in Woodland.
It is the first workshop in a series of required trainings to meet state licensing mandates that address caring for children who have been abused, neglected or abandoned.
Information is designed to answer prospective foster parents’ questions about licensing requirements, home preparations and expectations. Along with an overview of general foster care statistics, several Yolo County foster and adoptive parents and their children will share their stories of traditional foster care and fostering-to-adoption journeys.
