Longtime Davis Enterprise columnist Bob Dunning will be the featured speaker at the quarterly luncheon meeting of the Yolo County chapter of the Retired Public Employees’ Association of California. The group will meet at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, May 8, in Cracchiolo’s Banquet Hall, 1320 E. Main St. in Woodland.
Reservations are due by Monday at 530-661-6595. The cost is $5 for members and their spouses and $15 for guests.
Dunning has been a Davis resident for most of his life; his humor has been enjoyed by readers of The Davis Enterprise for 38 years — the longest-running tenure of any current daily newspaper columnist. He is “married with children” but focuses his column on the foibles of the Davis City Council, the Yolo County Board of Supervisors and candidates for any elective office.
RPEA is the only statewide organization open to retired state, county, city, classified school and special district employees — as well as active workers, who may join for reduced fees — and is charged with protecting the retirement and other benefits to which members are entitled.
