Yolo County residents can get rid of used passenger car, truck or tractor tires at a free recycling event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, in Esparto.
The event — at the Esparto Recycling and Transfer Station, 27075 County Road 19A — is made possible through a grant from the California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle). Participants may bring in up to nine tires to be recycled free of charge.
A limit of nine tires will be imposed. Tires with or without rims will be accepted, but they must be air-filled with no solid areas. Heavy equipment tires, or tires with a diameter greater than 60 inches, will not be accepted.
