A downtown Davis restaurant damaged by fire Tuesday won’t be able to open for another week to 10 days, its owner says.
Aziz Fattahi of Village Pizza & Grill told The Enterprise that repairs and smoke damage cleanup will force a longer-than-expected shutdown. He hopes to be open again by Friday, June 21.
Employees and customers were evacuated from the restaurant Tuesday shortly after 1 p.m. as firefighters investigated the source of the smoke, which was traced to the subfloor underneath a cooking appliance.
