Retired teachers get a little sudsy

Charlie Bamforth, endowed professor of malting and brewing science at UC Davis, will be the guest speaker at the next meeting of the Yolo County California Retired Teachers Association. The luncheon meeting will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Blanchard Room at the Stephens Branch Library, 315 E. 14th St. in Davis.

The association’s purpose is to enhance and protect the benefits of retired teachers. Besides providing scholarships for higher education, CalRTA members logged more than 2.3 million hours of service to their communities last year.
