About 20 members of the Rotary Club of Davis rolled up their sleeves Saturday to clean up the landscaping along the Covell Boulevard offramp from northbound Highway 113. Five members of the Campus Rotaract Club at UC Davis contributed some young elbow grease.

The Rotarians pulled weeds, trimmed plants and did general cleanup of the landscaped area, first established about a decade ago. They were joining in a districtwide Rotarians at Work Day project involving 3,670 Rotarians in 70 clubs throughout District 5160, stretching from San Ramon in the south to Weed in the north.

The project is made possible with the help of Davis resident Donna Lott, whose apartment complex is adjacent to the site and who provides all the water at no cost to the club, and Paul Hart of Davis Waste Removal Co., who donates Dumpster service for the work days.
