By From page A7 | January 05, 2014

The Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Center — Yolo County’s primary provider of sexual assault and domestic violence services — is recruiting “passionate, dedicated and qualified candidates” to serve on its board of directors.

The board is responsible for guidance and oversight of the agency’s affairs, including planning, policy development, resource development, financial oversight and ensuring that the organization is addressing its mission of ending violence in Yolo County.

The board meets at least 10 times annually, and members are expected to actively participate on at least one committee.

The board is seeking a diverse mix of community members, representing various backgrounds, sectors and proficiencies. Previous board experience is not required.

Those interested in serving should request an application by visiting www.sadvc.org. The application deadline is Jan. 6.
