By From page A9 | May 01, 2012

The San Francisco Guitar Quartet returns to the Davis Art Center at 8 p.m. Friday for the concluding concert in the Art Center’s spring Classical Guitar Ensemble series. The Art Center is at 1919 F St.

Committed proponents of new music as well as the classics, the quartet draws from a rich background of music including classical, world and ethnic traditions, as well as improvisation.

The diverse list of composers whose music the group has presented in concert and on recordings includes classical figures like J.S. Bach and Luigi Boccherini, contemporary figures like Cuban composer Leo Brouwer, Brazilian composer Sergio Assad, Italian composer Carlo Domeniconi, Australian composer Phillip Houghton, and Serbian-born American Dusan Bogdanovic.

Tickets are $15 general, $10 for students and seniors and $5 for children 12 and under. They are available online at www.brownpapertickets.com or at the door.
