If your new year’s resolution is to learn a new language, you’re in luck. Classes in Sanskrit or Korean will be offered beginning in January at International House, Davis.
On Tuesday, Jan. 8, I-House will offer a class in Sanskrit taught by a UC Davis student, Pushun Sheth. The class will meet at 8 p.m. Tuesdays in the Hagan Room at I-House, 10 College Park.
On Friday, Jan. 11, a new Korean class for beginners will be offered taught by Helen Shin. The class will begin at 1 p.m. and will be held every Friday in the Hagan Room.
“All of our language instructors are volunteers,” said Elisabeth Sherwin, executive director. “We are lucky to have so many people in the community share their time and talent.”
I-House offers more than 20 language classes a week, including six English classes. The first class is free.
“If you like the class, we ask that you become a member. For students, that’s $20 a year. For a nonstudent, it’s $40 a year,” Sherwin said..
