Sassafras Beauty helps Empower Yolo

Sassafras Beauty, a retailer in The Marketplace shopping center, is partnering with Empower Yolo — formerly known as the Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Center of Yolo County — in support of the agency’s campaign to end violence and provide hope for families in Yolo County.

The store will host a silent auction beginning Saturday, featuring products from some of its most popular vendors, including Moroccan Oil, Paul Mitchell’s Awapuhi Wild Ginger, Kenra and Dermalogica. The auction will continue through Saturday, March 15, with all proceeds to be donated to Empower Yolo.

On March 15, all are invited to visit Sassafras Beauty, 1411 W. Covell Blvd., Suite 9, for a day of giving thanks and giving back. Stylists will offer free deep conditioning treatments for any donation amount; appointments are suggested. Dermalogica representatives will offer free skin analysis.

According to Sassafras Beauty owner Danielle Crane, a $25 donation provides one night of safe and confidential shelter, $50 provides one counseling session for an abused child, $75 provides supportive services for a survivor of sexual assault and $100 provides one night of shelter for a family of four.

Donations from Senders Wine and Yogurt Land will ensure a fun-filled day for all participants.

Shoppers also will receive 10 percent off their purchases, and Sassafras Beauty will donate 10 percent of every purchase to Empower Yolo.
