Say thanks to a teacher with a ticket to tea
Have you thanked a teacher lately? A perfect opportunity is coming up later this month.
T(ea) is for Teachers is an appreciation tea to honor teachers and support Tech Trek, a summer camp to introduce junior high school girls to math and science careers. Sierra Marie and Megan Yamoah from Holmes Junior High have received scholarships from AAUW, the sponsor of Tech Trek.
The fundraiser is planned from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Monday, May 23, at Monticello Seasonal Cuisine, 630 G St. For $10, you can invite a special teacher — or multiple teachers! — to “high tea” jointly sponsored by AAUW and Prytanean Women’s Honor Society.
