Einstein Education Center students recently partnered with two Yolo County offices to host a blood drive with Sacramento Blood Source.
On Monday, Einstein students in the Careers with Children class offered by the Yolo County Office of Education worked with the Department of Employment and Social Services to prepare fliers recruiting donors and volunteer at the drive itself. Thirty-eight donors participated in the blood drive, with six giving blood for the first time.
The students handed out information, called donors to confirm appointments and staffed the welcome desk.
Blood donors must weigh 110 pounds or more, be in overall good health and be at least 17 years old, or 16 with a signed Blood Source parental consent form. Blood Source consent forms are at www.bloodsource.org/schools. There is no upper age limit for blood donations.
