DCC Nursery School taking applications for 2012-13

Davis Community Church Nursery School, a parent cooperative preschool in its 38th year of operation, is accepting applications for its 2012-13 school year. The school is accepting applications for its early explorers, toddler and preschool programs, which are for children 15 months to 5 years of age.

Early explorers is a program with parent participation. The program is an opportunity for hands-on playtime for parents and children in a comfortable, supportive and nurturing environment. Parents will learn positive parenting skills and ways to encourage their child’s natural curiosity.

Activities include singing, exploration of art materials, musical play, creative movement, dance, outdoor fun and reading books. The program is for children who are between 15 and 24 months old on Sept. 1. The class meets Fridays from noon to 1:30 p.m.

The toddler program exposes toddlers to a group experience. Parents participate in the class twice a month. Through their classroom participation, observations and guidance from experienced teachers, parents will gain a better understanding of early childhood development.

This program is for children who are between 24 and 36 months on Sept. 1. The class meets from 9 to 11 a.m. Mondays and Fridays.

The three-day programs are on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings and afternoons. Parents participate two to three times a month. Experienced, credentialed teachers lead the classes. This program is for children who are 3 years old by Sept. 1. The morning class is from 9 to 11:45 a.m. The afternoon class is from 1 to 3:45 p.m.

DCCNS is at 412 C St. For more information, call (530) 758-2940, visit www.dccns.org or email [email protected]
