Science Fair help offered to elementary students

By From page A7 | February 12, 2014

Elementary-age students may participate in Science Fair Help Day from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, in the Children’s Activity Room of the Stephens Branch Library, 315 E. 14th St. in Davis.

Graduate students, from UC Davis’ department of evolutionary biology, will guide students through the science fair path. From explaining the scientific method, to developing a question, to finding information sources to support an experiment, these science-passionate graduate students will help elementary-age students kick-start their science fair project. They will even show off an exciting experiment or two.

“Join us for an afternoon of science fun while we help kids get excited about science,” said Judy Wexler, UCD population biology graduate student, in a news release.

No reservations are required. Sponsored by the Friends of the Davis Public Library, the program is free. For more information, email Joan Tuss at [email protected].
