Second Street paving delayed

By April 7, 2011

Second Street construction has been delayed due to the threat of rain, said Kevin Burke, the city’s public works inspection supervisor.

Roads will be open until Monday, when workers resume the paving work started this week, Burke said.

Detours will be in place at Second Street between B and G streets and between H Street and the railroad tracks. Businesses remain open and sidewalks are accessible to pedestrians.

The roads will reopen at the end of each work day, Burke said.

Paving should be complete in one to two days, he said, at which time the roads will reopen and the remainder of the work on the project will continue.

Parking is free at the E Street Plaza lot until the end of the project, he said.
