See historic neighborhoods lighted by luminarias

By
From page A5 | December 06, 2012 |

The eighth annual Historic Area Luminary Display will take place Saturday evening along several blocks in Woodland. Many residents of First and College streets (between Lincoln and Marshall streets) will participate, along with the 500 blocks of Second and Third streets and Pendegast Street off of College.

Best viewing times are between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. In the event of rain or high winds, the luminarias will be lighted instead on Saturday, Dec. 15.

Visitors are asked to drive slowly while viewing the luminarias or to park outside the area and enjoy a candlelit stroll through the neighborhoods. Canned goods and warm coats will be collected for the Fourth and Hope (formerly the Yolo Wayfarer Center). Collection boxes will be available at the intersection of First Street and Oak Avenue.
