The Yolo Adult Day Health Center and Woodland Healthcare are sponsoring an advanced care planning workshop to help families deal with future decision-making, especially emotional and financial issues.

“Advanced care planning enables a family to be better prepared for what lies ahead in caring for a loved one,” a news release said. “It helps to provide a better quality of life for the care recipient.”

The workshop will run from 8:30 a.m. to 4 :30 p.m. Saturday, June 23, at the Yolo Adult Day Health Center, 20 N. Cottonwood St. in Woodland.

Each participant will be given a notebook to gather information for developing a care plan for someone they care for or for themselves. The plan will include important papers and information about one’s support system, health, finances, legal concerns, housing options, reorganizing, end-of-life issues and resource information.

Peggy Phelps, caregiver resource specialist, will be the instructor.

A donation of $20 for materials and lunch is request. For more information or to sign up, contact Phelps at (530) 666-8828 or [email protected].
