“The Art of Being Human” is the subject of a training session being offered this weekend at the Davis Shambhala Center, 133 D St., Suite H. It is the first class in a series of trainings in the Shambhala Buddhist tradition.
Based on ancient teachings that were brought to the West by Tibetan Buddhist meditation master Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche, Shambhala training weekends offer a way of living in the world with confidence, genuineness and creative expression based on the inherent wisdom that exists in every person, a news release said.
Attendees receive clear and precise methods for uplifting their personal experience and relationships with others.
The program includes meditation instruction with periods of sitting and walking practice, formal talks, collaborative group discussions and individual meetings with a meditation instructor.
It will be offered from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, and from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 10. A $150 donation is suggested. For more information and to register, visit http://davis.shambhala.org/program-details/?id=180242.
