All are welcome to join in the Community Winter Spiral, a reflective walk along a spiral made of evergreens in a darkened room, on Thursday, Dec. 5, at the Davis Waldorf School, 3100 Sycamore Lane.
“The Winter Spiral is a gentle, meditative time where we can experience gathering light from a central source and carrying it within to light the outer world,” a news release said. “When we silently enter the room, only a candle in the center of the spiral is lit. Soft music is played as we each walk the spiral alone and light our own candle from the center candle, and then place it along the path.”
The event is open to Adults and children in fifth grade and older.
“To provide safety from the candle flames, please avoid wearing long, flowing skirts and make sure that long hair is pulled back and secured,” the news release said.
Participants are asked to gather at 6:15 p.m. at the school. The spiral will last about 45 minutes to one hour. If the first spiral is full, a second spiral will open at about 7:30 p.m.
