All are welcome to join “brrrisk” morning walks Tuesdays and Thursdays year-round, offered by the Sierra Club.
“This is no stroll in the park. Work up a sweat!” an organizer says.
The group will meet at 7 a.m. at Peet’s Coffee & Tea in The Marketplace at Covell Boulevard and Sycamore Lane in North Davis. The group will walk about 4.5 miles in less than 90 minutes, returning to Peet’s about 8:30 a.m.
Visit Davis greenbelts, wildlife ponds, fields, ditches, dirt paths, gardens, Village Homes, the UC Davis campus and Arboretum, watching for coyotes chasing jackrabbits, raptors, Swainson’s and red-tailed hawks, as well as flocks of wild turkeys foraging on Davis lawns.
Rain cancels the walk. For more information, call Sierra Club co-leaders Marilu Carter at (530) 758-3151 or Randy Brendia at (530) 400-8852.
