By From page A3 | May 14, 2013

The Sierra Club Yolano Group invites local residents to its annual spring potluck dinner at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Blanchard Room at the Stephens Branch Library, 315 E. 14th St. in Davis.

“Please bring your favorite dish to share and help us strive to make this a ‘zero waste’ event by bringing your own plates, cups, utensils, and a cloth napkin,” a news release said. The Yolano Group will provide beverages.

The critically acclaimed documentary “Gasland,” the winner of the Special Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival, will be screened. The movie is a controversial exposé of “fracking,” the technology used in the largest domestic natural gas drilling boom in history, and the trail of secrets, lies and contamination in its wake.
