Whether you enjoy running or are looking for a way to work off a few extra pounds to feel less guilty about Thanksgiving dinner, the fifth annual Running of the Turkeys on Thursday, Nov. 28, is the right choice.

With three divisions, the 5-kilometer run/walk is a family-friendly way to spend the holiday. The race kicks off at 8 a.m. at Heritage Plaza, 600 Main St. in Woodland. Team and individual costumes are encouraged.

The race fee for individuals 18 years and older is $25 before Nov. 7, $30 between Nov. 8 and 27 and $35 on race day. Children 6 to 17 years old are $15 now through race day, and children 5 years and younger are free.

In addition, canned food and frozen turkey donations will be accepted at the event for the Yolo Food Bank.

For more information, call 530-668-0690 or visit runningoftheturkeys.org.
