By From page A11 | March 29, 2012

An eight-week session of the new Yolo Youth Choir is planned for April 26 to June 7, with weekly Thursday rehearsals from 4 to 5 p.m. at Barbara’s Dancing Tonight.

The youth choir classes, open to all kids ages 8 to 14 without audition, will culminate in a community Singing Bee on the evening of Friday, June 8, at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Davis.

This session is a sneak preview of the Yolo Youth Choir, which will begin its first full season this fall. The mission of the group is to provide a fun, creative and inclusive performing experience for kids who love to sing and want to build their musicianship and performance skills.

There is a flexible fee to participate and scholarships are available.

The group will be directed by Laura Sandage with Katie Henry assisting. Local singer-songwriters Sandage and Henry perform locally in the Vocal Art Ensemble and in the folk trio MudLark, as well as leading the Free Range Singers and the Patwin Elementary Chorus together.

For more information, contact Laura Sandage at (530) 848-4812 or [email protected].
