Soroptimists accept grant funding applications

By From page A4 | January 29, 2014

Friday is the deadline for applications from local nonprofit and charitable organizations for grant funding for 2014 from Soroptimist International of Davis. The maximum amount to apply for is $1,500.

Applications are available online at www.sidavis.org or by contacting Crystal O’Hara, Service Grants Committee chair, at [email protected] or 530-902-5530.
SI Davis is focused on improving the lives of women and children.

Soroptimists will judge applications on: how well the project responds to the needs of the Davis community; how many people are served by the project; how deep an impact the project has on an individual level; and whether the project costs are reasonable.

Previous recipients are eligible to reapply, and organizations that have not sought funding in the past are encouraged to submit an application. This is a competitive grant process.
Soroptimist International is the largest classified business and professional women’s service organization in the world. The organization has more than 100,000 members in 115 countries.

Soroptimist International of Davis was chartered in 1954 and boasts more than 40 active members who come together for friendship and to serve the community. Each year, the club awards an average of $14,000 in service grants.
