Local residents are invited to hit the links this summer for a good time, and a great cause.
Soroptimist International of Greater Davis will host its 17th annual tournament on Saturday, July 16, at the Davis Municipal Golf Course to benefit the Multi-Disciplinary Interview Center, an organization serving Yolo County child abuse victims and their families.
The tournament is a two-person scramble format, with handicap and Callaway flights. Players will compete for overall tournament prizes, as well as closest to the pin and most accurate drive. A golfer who makes a hole in one could win a brand-new golf cart.
A silent auction also is planned.
The cost is $60 per player, and includes greens fees. For more information or to sign up, call Grace Starkovich at (530) 756-6673, Wanda Winton at (530) 756-9222 or Cameron Handley at (530) 666-8308.
