“Myths and Facts About Israel” will be discussed by Randy Neal at 2 p.m. Saturday at Congregation Bet Haverim, 1715 Anderson Road in Davis.
Neal is western regional director of Christians United for Israel, the largest Israel advocacy group in the world with more than 1 million members. Sponsored by the Bet Haverim Israel Matters Committee, the program will take place in the congregation’s Social Hall. Questions following his presentation will be welcome.
Neal will describe his January trip to Israel with more than 30 area pastors. In dissecting the many myths that abound about the realities of Israel, he will examine the issues of refugees, Israel’s treatment of religious and racial minorities, and its relations with its often adversarial neighbors.
CUFI is the national organization that seeks to “educate Christians about the biblical and moral imperatives about supporting Israel.” Founded in 2006, it maintains a program of education, outreach and events. CUFI has a presence in all 50 states and organizes hundreds of pro-Israel events each year, including a Washington, D.C., summit.
Based in Sacramento, Neal works with Christian leaders in 13 Western states. He has extensive experience in developing educational workshops that address the biblical mandate to support Israel and deal with church history and political activism in the faith community. He has spoken to many churches, synagogues and pro-Israel events.
