Special double-headers planned for ‘Damn Yankees’

By From page A11 | February 21, 2012

During the run of the musical “Damn Yankees” at the Davis Musical Theatre Company, audiences not only will have the opportunity to see a musical that hit a home run on Broadway, but they can have their choice of a “double-header” of activities on two special nights.

On opening night Friday, audience members are invited to wear their favorite teams’ baseball jerseys and/or caps. Participating audience members wearing their team gear will receive free popcorn and will have a chance to win a pair of San Francisco Giants tickets.

On Saturday, a free reception will begin at 7:30 p.m. Nugget Market’s wine steward, Misha Johnson, will show audiences how to pair beer — baseball’s favorite beverage — with cheese.

Curtain time at the DMTC Performing Arts Center, 607 Peña Drive, is at 8:15 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2:15 p.m. Sundays through March 18.

Tickets are $18 general, $16 for students and seniors, and $14 per person for groups of 10 or more. Tickets are available online at www.dmtc.org or by calling (530) 756-3682. For more information, email [email protected].
