Stock up on books at Friends’ sale

The bargains on books will be sizzling as the Friends of the Davis Public Library host their bi-monthly book sale starting Friday, Aug. 5.

Members only will be admitted from noon to 2 p.m., but shoppers are invited to become a member at the door. Regular hours are 2 to 7 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. The sale will take place at the library, 315 E. 14th St.

All hardback books and trade paperbacks will be $2; pocket paperbacks will be $1; children’s books will range from 25 cents to $2; and CDs, DVDs and tapes will be $1. On Sunday, full bags of books will sell for $5 and “better books” are half-price.

Membership applications for the Friends of the Davis Public Library will be available at the door or online at davislibraryfriends.org. Membership includes bi-monthly postcards reminders of the book sales; the cards may be turned in at each sale for $4 off book purchases.
