The Children’s International Storytelling Program kicks of 2013 with a program at 2 p.m. Sunday in the lounge at International House, Davis, 10 College Park.
Sara Woo will tell an international tale, “Around the World with Sara Woo.” The event is free to I-House members, and others are asked to contribute $2 per child or $5 per family. There is plenty of free parking in the lot north of I-House.
On Feb. 17, the professional storyteller will be John Boe of Berkeley, a former UC Davis lecturer.
“Storytelling is one of the best programs we can offer local children,” said Elisabeth Sherwin, I-House’s executive director. “These programs are perfect for children age 4 to 9 accompanied by an adult or parent.”
International House, Davis, is a private nonprofit supported by student and community memberships.
“You don’t have to be an international student or scholar to join,” Sherwin said. “We depend on community members to support us, too, especially those who are interested in art shows, cooking classes, language classes, international movies or current event panels.”
