Homes in Woodland’s Beamer Park neighborhood, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year, will be featured at the 26th annual Stroll Through History on Saturday, Sept. 6.
The popular community event features free docent-led walking and ticketed tours throughout Woodland’s historic neighborhoods, and a pancake breakfast hosted by the Kiwanis Club. Activities start at 8:30 a.m. in Heritage Plaza, Second and Main streets, and will end at 4 p.m.
Participants are invited to get into the spirit of the day and wear a vintage costume; prizes will be awarded. For costumes, try Decades at 1814 Del Paso Blvd. in Sacramento or Evangeline’s Costume Mansion at 113 K St. in Old Sacramento.
The Stroll is a nonprofit organization of local residents who are interested in Woodland’s unique architectural heritage. It is supported by local sponsorships and the sale of open-home tickets. For more information, visit www.strollthroughhistory.com.
