By From page A3 | February 27, 2014

Succulents will be featured at the March meeting of the Davis Flower Arrangers, at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, at International House, 10 College Park. The presenter for the program that follows a brief business meeting is Merlyn Lenear, owner/operator of The Organic Gardener in Stockton.

Lenear will bring potted plants and arrangements to show the wide range of options in growing succulents and he will have small potted plants and cuttings available for sale.

Members and guests will be provided with an abalone shell or other small container ready for planting as demonstrated by the speaker. He will have lists of plants available and show how some might be arranged and planted for use in the home or garden as live garden décor.

Lenear will draw on 30 years of gardening with cacti and succulents, membership in the Carmichael Cactus and Succulent Society, The Sacramento Perennial Plant Club and experience as a Calaveras County Master Gardener.

Prorated yearly memberships and guest tickets for attending one program will be available at the door.

For more information, call co-presidents Linda Wilson at 530-402-3865 or Janet Collins at 530-756-3127.
