Support offered to family caregivers

Three caregiver support groups will meet in February in Woodland. Call 530-666-8828 for more information:

* Saturday: Women who care for their spouses will meet from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Palm Gardens, 240 Palm Ave. This group is designed to support, encourage and empower women to take care of themselves as well.

* Tuesday, Feb. 12: Family caregivers of loved ones with memory loss will meet from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Yolo Adult Day Health Center, 20 N. Cottonwood St. This group is open to any family members or friends. No reservations are required.

* Thursday, Feb. 14: The Triple-S (share, support and solve) eldercare discussion group will meet from 12:10 to 12:50 p.m. at Woodland Healthcare’s Railsback Building, 1207 Fairchild. The group addresses common concerns and community resources. Walk-ins are welcome; bring a brown-bag lunch.

In addition, Family Caregiving 101 will feature Denise Davis from the Alzheimer’s Association, who will present “Keys Please? Dementia and Driving” from 12:10 to 12:50 p.m. Thursday at Woodland Healthcare’s Railsback Building, 1207 Fairchild Court in Woodland.
