Support offered to survivors of domestic or sexual violence

By From page A4 | May 22, 2014

An eight-session support group for the support of adult women who have experienced domestic or sexual violence as a child or adult will be offered from 6 to 7:20 p.m. Wednesday, June 4, at Empower Yolo — formerly known as the Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Center.

Registration is required by attending a drop-in intake session. For intake hours and location, call the Empower Yolo therapy line at 530-665-5332 or visit empoweryolo.org.

The group is free. It will explore the dynamics and warning signs of violent relationships and how women can manage and heal from the emotional impact of domestic violence and sexual violence to increase their well-being and personal safety. Further, the group will address ways to become more empowered and independent in their present and future lives.
