Sarah Clanton has been cooking professionally for 25 years and strives to teach the home-cooked “secrets” she’s learned over the years.
This month, she’ll teach participants in a city of Davis class how to create an easy surf and turf dinner party featuring both meat and fish. The menu will include lemon herb tilapia en papillote; thinly sliced tri tip with lemon, mustard and caper sauce; fresh pasta with a hand-chopped mint, rosemary and sage pesto; seasonal vegetables; and a fresh fruit parfait dessert.
The class will run from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, in the kitchen at the Veterans’ Memorial Center, 203 E. 14th St. The cost is $45. Register at the Community Services Office, 600 A St., Suite C, or online at www.cityofdavis.org.
