Visitors flocked to the Design + Launch Flight Derby on Sunday at the UC Davis Arboretum Gazebo, a collaboration with the Davis Art Center as part of its summerlong program on “Momentum: Art in Action/Creativity in Motion.” A team of experts helped visitors explore all things that fly, from rockets to butterflies. Kids could make paper airplanes and design their own kites, then take part in a fun flight derby. Other activities included close looks at small flying creatures and a trip through the Arboretum with insect nets.
